Design Concept — The goal of the DRI Strategy for the City of Watertown was to capitalize on the City’s assets while helping to resolve some challenges that have placed barriers in the way of additional economic development. There is no question that Watertown is on the cusp of a transformation into an even more thriving Downtown that provides greater resources for local residents while also attracting additional visitors to the City’s arts and cultural destinations, healthcare assets, and entertainment venues. The Watertown DRI Strategy positions the City to build upon the momentum that it has, while providing a needed boost to better serve existing residents and workers, attract new people to live and open businesses downtown, and attract visitors to the City from around the region and the country.
